Mid-County Community Center

Improving health, providing education, fostering friendships for the people in our community

Serving Midland, Summit-Waller, and surrounding areas…

If you ask our clients what the Mid County Community Center is, most likely they will tell you it’s a HAPPY Place! And that’s exactly what we work on providing; a safe, supportive, comfortable environment in which older adults can participate in activities, programs, and services that enhance their health and happiness. Our goal is to deliver excellent service, every time, to every client. We want to create a sense of community for our seniors, with an atmosphere of friendliness, acceptance, and compassionate support.

We have been providing support and services to seniors in Pierce County for over 35 years, and are a non-profit 501(c)3 organization. Our mission is to provide a broad range of programs and services which meet the changing needs of older adults in mid-Pierce County; enhancing lives and uniting the community. Our great location in unincorporated Pierce County means we are truly a self-supporting community center. We are able to provide these services thanks to the dedication of our incredible volunteers, and through grants, donations, fund-raising events, partnerships, sponsorships, and the support of our community. Together, we make a difference!

Our programs include:

Dancing– Because nothing brings together physical well-being and fun quite like dancing!

Nutrition– Because good food= great times! Part of being healthy and happy must include well balanced meals. Through our Mealsite programs, our food bank, and other nutrition related programs, we provide assistance to our area seniors in improving their nutritional health.

Arts and Crafts-We have numerous programs to satisfy the artist in all of us! There are acrylic and oil painting groups, jewelry making, sewing and needle work, and many more, so come express your creativity with us today!

Educational Opportunities– We teach a number of computer classes to help our community keep up with the technology age. We also offer cooking classes, and feature guest speakers regularly on a wide variety of topics important to seniors.

Health, Wellness, and Exercise– We all need exercise to keep our bodies working well. We provide programs geared directly for our older adults such as Yoga, Refresh Fitness, and the SAIL exercise program. We also provide health and wellness programs such as massage, immunizations, fall risk assessments, diabetes testing, and many more.

Volunteering– We provide volunteering opportunities to both our seniors, and our community at large, who would like to plug in to their community and help others!

Thank you for your interest in MCCC, and we hope to see you SOON!
